Totnes Travel has pioneered ‘Exchange is as Good as a Rest Holidays’ web-booked house exchanges. Initially targeted at the UK markets, it has now spread to northern France. Families book other people’s houses via a web pool. Local businesses also profit from the package of days out, cycle hire and dinner deals etc. that go with the house.
Farmers are offering a wide range of local work opportunities, many including simple accommodation. The work includes training in food growing, hedgerow management and animal husbandry skills. People with these skills are highly sought after. Reimbursement is part paid in food.

Many jobs have emerged through group anaerobic digesters and other waste recycling schemes.

The restructuring of Income Tax is revisited and it is agreed that 70% will be collected directly by local authorities for them to administer, the other 30% will be paid to National Government.
Under a ruling of the UN, the Global Agreement on Trades and Tariffs (GATT) is to be replaced with the Global Agreement on Sustainable Trade (GAST), which will strengthen democratic control of trade, stimulate industries and services that benefit local communities and re-diversify local economies.
