Acknowledgements
This document and the research that led to it has been funded by: the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, Artists Planet Earth, Land Share CIC, the Ashden Trust, the ESRC and Ashoka.
We are deeply grateful to them all for seeing the importance of this work. We are also grateful for all the support we have received from Totnes Town Council, South Hams District Council and Devon County Council. This Plan stands on the shoulders of the many community plans that have gone before it, in particular the Totnes Community Plan, created by the Totnes Strategy Group, the community response to South Hams District Council’s Development Plan Document, and the ‘Leading the Way’ report, produced by the Devon Association for Renewable Energy. A list of all the people who have contributed to this document would run over several pages, suffice to say without the input of many hundreds of people, Transition Town Totnes would not exist and this Plan would be a scant and insignificant document.
We would also like to thank the many people involved in TTT working groups and projects who have supported the development of this Plan, all those who participated in the public workshops, discussion groups and consultation processes which have fed into this Plan, Totnes and District Image Bank for permission to use their archive photos, Ernest Goh for many of the photos of the area and for his cheeky photoshops, Ian Campbell for his data analysis, the children of Park School and the Grove School for their drawings, students at KEVICCS for their insights and visions, local artists for their drawings and sketches, and the many local organisation and Parish Councils who have contributed to this Plan.
